Mykhailo Fedorov highlights 22 key achievements of the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine during his tenure

Mykhailo Fedorov outlined the Ministry of Defence's key achievements during his tenure as Minister of Defence.
He emphasized that it had been a great honor to serve the Ukrainian people as Minister of Defence.
Since Mykhailo Fedorov assumed office as Minister of Defence on January 14, 2026, the Ministry of Defence has:
- Ensured that russian forces' access to Starlink was blocked, significantly reducing their ability to wage effective drone warfare.
- Effectively invested in middle-strike capabilities, fiber-optic-controlled FPV drones, low-cost reconnaissance drones, UGVs, interceptor drones, and deep-strike drones. Procured more drones in four months than during the entire previous year.
- Launched the Logistics Lockdown program as a standalone, separately funded initiative that, together with targeted procurement and support for top-performing units, disrupted the enemy's logistics and initiated the isolation of Crimea.
- Continued funding for the Drone Line program, which serves as the foundation for drone procurement for the Unmanned Systems Forces.
- Launched a support program for modern drone-assault units whose operations are driven primarily by technology.
- Introduced a 70% advance payment mechanism for procurements made using combat points on the Brave1 Market platform.
- Fundamentally reformed the procurement system. Launched the first competitive tenders for extended-range 155 mm artillery rounds and hundreds of thousands of drones, saving the state budget billions of dollars.
- For the first time, procured thousands of pickup trucks, buggies, and all-terrain vehicles for the military—and did so through competitive tenders.
- Integrated Pavlo “Lazar” Yelizarov into the Air Force and introduced an After Action Review (AAR) process for every large-scale aerial attack. Increased the drone interception rate from 83% to 91% and the cruise missile interception rate from 47% to 87%.
- For the first time, completed contracting for Patriot PAC-2 GEM-T missiles and submitted an application through the European loan to procure PAC-3 missiles.
- Launched the Basic Level drone supply model for brigades and corps. Starting in July, all combat brigades and corps will begin receiving predictable drone deliveries without manual intervention, enabling them to plan their operations better.
- Launched a large-scale grant program for manufacturers of explosives and missiles.
- Began the unpopular but critically important transformation of the Defence Forces: contracts with defined durations of service and guaranteed temporary discharge for all service members, one of the world's highest pay scales for infantry and assault personnel, the opening of the foreign recruitment market under transparent and attractive market conditions, and new mechanisms to encourage the return of service members who went AWOL.
- Held three Ramstein-format meetings, helping counter russian narratives about Ukraine's alleged defeat and restore partners' confidence in Ukraine. $40 billion in support for this year was announced, excluding the European loan.
- Launched the mechanism for using the Ukraine Support Loan to fund Ukraine's wartime priorities. This was a complex bureaucratic undertaking that was successfully completed.
- Found a way to scale the production of low-cost missiles to counter jet-powered Shahed drones and signed a record contract.
- Ukraine's ballistic missile program. Symbolically, on the day the government was dismissed, a ballistic missile developed within the Ministry of Defence's area of responsibility was successfully tested. The technical requirements were fundamentally revised, maximum accuracy was achieved, the cost was reduced by 30%, and Ukraine will enter a new league.
- Signed a contract to procure Gripen fighter aircraft that will enable Ukraine to shoot down russian Su aircraft carrying glide bombs.
- Together with the military, planned and carried out Special Operation “Auchan,” which halted the enemy's mechanized offensive for six months.
- Opened exports under the Drone Deal program to attract investment and expand the production capacity of Ukraine's defense industry.
- Launched TrophyLab, allowing partners to study captured russian weapons and military technologies.
- Launched the Defense AI Center A1 to accelerate the integration of artificial intelligence into warfare.
Together, these represent 22 key achievements by the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine.
Mykhailo Fedorov thanked the Ministry of Defence team for their dedicated service.
