1,180 enemy targets struck: how Operation “Auchan” halted the enemy's mechanized offensive for six months

The Defence Forces of Ukraine carried out the two-phase Special Operation “Auchan,” striking more than 1,100 enemy targets. As a result, the enemy's mechanized assault was effectively halted for six months.
Minister of Defence Mykhailo Fedorov revealed details of the special operation.
Our task is to act asymmetrically against the enemy. Operation “Auchan” is just one example of how technology, intelligence, and sound planning make it possible to systematically weaken the enemy's offensive potential.
In 2025, additional funding for the special operation was allocated at the initiative of the President and by decision of the Headquarters of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief.
Phase One of Special Operation “Auchan”: nearly 950 russian targets struck
The Defence Forces of Ukraine amassed a fleet of specially developed drones, gathered the necessary intelligence, and prepared a large-scale strike against enemy equipment deep behind the front lines.
In just three days, the Defence Forces struck 949 enemy targets.
Following the operation, the enemy withdrew a significant portion of its equipment from the front line, and it would take months to replenish those losses.
Phase Two of Special Operation “Auchan”: targeting russian artillery
Several weeks ago, the Defence Forces repeated the operation. This time, enemy artillery was the primary target. It remains one of the greatest challenges on the battlefield.
For the second phase of the operation, a new munition was developed specifically to strike artillery. The result: 231 enemy targets struck, including 171 destroyed.
Across both phases of Operation “Auchan,” the Defence Forces of Ukraine struck a total of 1,180 enemy targets.
Every operation like this means more than just destroyed equipment. It means disrupted enemy plans, fewer opportunities for its offensive, and greater chances of saving the lives of our service members.
Mykhailo Fedorov thanked the National Guard of Ukraine's separate special-purpose unit Lasar's Group, the 412th Separate Unmanned Systems Brigade NEMESIS, and all the other service members involved in carrying out the operation.
Earlier, the Ministry of Defence reported that the Defence Forces of Ukraine struck more than 200,000 enemy targets in June 2026.
