For nearly a year, units participating in the Drone Line initiative have been receiving weapons under the Army of Drones Bonus program through Brave1 Market and DOT-Chain Defence

Units participating in the Drone Line initiative can now order UAVs and other equipment through the DOT-Chain Defence weapons marketplace.

“We are fulfilling another request from the military. Units participating in the Drone Line initiative are already ordering UAVs and other equipment through the DOT-Chain Defence weapons marketplace. In less than two weeks in the system, the units ordered equipment worth UAH 184.8 million, including initial deliveries worth UAH 40.8 million,” said Minister of Defence Mykhailo Fedorov.

This step is intended to enhance the effectiveness of military units through a more predictable, targeted, and faster supply process. The Ministry of Defence has also allocated a dedicated budget for units participating in the Drone Line initiative to procure equipment through the marketplace.

“Units participating in the Drone Line initiative are already using the DOT-Chain Defence weapons marketplace. The system is now available to all combat brigades. Military units independently select the equipment they need to carry out missions in their assigned sectors of the frontline,” added Arsen Zhumadilov, Director of the Defence Procurement Agency DOT.

Units participating in the Drone Line initiative

The Drone Line initiative is a project initiated by the President of Ukraine aimed at scaling the most effective unmanned systems units. Since June 2025, the initiative has been part of the Unmanned Systems Forces Grouping of the Armed Forces of Ukraine under the command of Major Robert “Magyar” Brovdi, Commander of the Unmanned Systems Forces.

The Drone Line initiative includes:

  • 414th Separate Brigade “Magyar Birds” of the Unmanned Systems Forces;
  • 20th Separate Brigade “K-2” of the Unmanned Systems Forces;
  • 9th Separate Brigade of the Unmanned Systems Forces;
  • 59th Separate Assault Unmanned Systems Brigade “Steppe Predators” of the Unmanned Systems Forces;
  • 411th Separate Brigade “Hawks” of the Unmanned Systems Forces;
  • 412th Separate Brigade “NEMESIS” of the Unmanned Systems Forces;
  • 427th Separate Brigade “RAROG” of the Unmanned Systems Forces;
  • 429th Separate Brigade “ACHILLES” of the Unmanned Systems Forces;
  • 413th Separate Unmanned Systems Regiment “RAID” of the Unmanned Systems Forces;
  • 1st Separate Unmanned Systems Center of the Unmanned Systems Forces;
  • “Phoenix” of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine;
  • 424th Separate Unmanned Systems Battalion “SVAROG” of the Unmanned Systems Forces;

They are focused on establishing a kill zone with a depth of 10–15 km to cover Ukrainian infantry and eliminate the enemy before it approaches Ukrainian positions.

For nearly a year, units participating in the Drone Line initiative have been receiving weapons under the Army of Drones Bonus program through Brave1 Market and DOT-Chain Defence. It is based on a motivational model in which points are awarded for striking the enemy or completing combat missions, which may then be exchanged for equipment. As a result, the available budgets for orders under this model are dynamic.

Advantages of procuring drones through the DOT-Chain Defence

Following a positive experience with DOT-Chain Defence, the units proposed using part of the funding allocated directly to them for procurement through the weapons marketplace. This has given military units another channel for rapid, tailored supply of unmanned systems and other equipment.

“Integrating units participating in the Drone Line initiative that are part of the Unmanned Systems Forces Grouping into the DOT-Chain Defence marketplace is a logical step in developing a modern military supply system. The most effective Unmanned Systems Forces units can now quickly select the exact equipment they need, without unnecessary delays or complicated procedures,” said Major Olha Meloshyna, spokesperson for the Unmanned Systems Forces.

She emphasized that this significantly increases the effectiveness of units on the battlefield, enables faster responses to changes in the operational situation, and helps scale successful solutions. According to her, this essentially creates a new level of logistical autonomy for military units, which directly affects the success of combat missions.

DOT-Chain Defence was developed by the Defence Procurement Agency DOT, which is also responsible for the entire supply process — from onboarding manufacturers into the system to processing payments and overseeing logistics.

Overall, more than 160 contracts have been concluded with domestic companies covering nearly 600 available equipment models. This enables the military to obtain the equipment they need in just a few clicks online.

As previously reported, the Ministry of Defence outlined the deployment of the large-scale Drone Line initiative across the Defence Forces of Ukraine. The initiative aims to scale a new doctrine of technological warfare.
