Deep strike, middle strike, electronic warfare: Ministry of Defence codifies over 1,500 new weapons and military equipment models since the start of 2026
In the first eight months of 2026, the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine codified and authorized for supply to the Defence Forces 1,526 new weapons and military equipment models, nearly 91% of them made in Ukraine.
During the same period in 2025, the Ministry of Defence codified 983 weapons and military equipment models, 86% of them made in Ukraine.
This year, the Defence Forces of Ukraine added the latest unmanned aerial systems to their arsenal, including long-range deep strike systems, high-tech middle strike systems, and high-speed interceptor drones.
The Ministry also codified models of armored vehicles and special-purpose armored vehicles, ammunition, communications equipment, electronic warfare (EW) and signals/electronic intelligence (SIGINT/ELINT) systems, unmanned ground vehicles (UGVs), and vehicles for various purposes.
More high-tech weaponry for the Defence Forces
Since the start of 2026, high-tech weapons and military equipment have accounted for the largest number of codified models. Most of them are made in Ukraine.
The Ministry of Defence codified new and modernized weapons and military equipment models and authorized them for supply to the Defence Forces of Ukraine. These include:
- 565 Ukrainian-made unmanned aerial systems (UAS);
- 256 variants of ammunition;
- 139 models of communication systems;
- 86 unmanned ground vehicles (UGVs);
- 64 electronic warfare (EW) and signals/electronic intelligence (SIGINT/ELINT) systems;
- 52 vehicles;
- 48 armored and special-purpose armored vehicle models;
- 37 optical equipment models.
All models meet the requirements of modern high-intensity warfare.
Non-lethal equipment codification: what the military received
In addition to the latest lethal weapons, the Ministry of Defence authorized for supply a large number of Ukrainian-made non-lethal weapons and military equipment models that are essential for service members performing missions both on the battlefield and in the rear.
The following were authorized for use by the Defence Forces:
- 26 Ukrainian-made rear-support equipment models;
- 21 training systems;
- 19 engineering and demining equipment models;
- 10 maintenance equipment models;
- 3 radiological, chemical, and biological protection equipment models.
One of the Ministry of Defence’s priorities is to provide the Ukrainian military with a technological advantage over the enemy. That is why the latest equipment that meets the requirements of modern high-intensity warfare predominates among the codified models.
As was previously reported, the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine codified and authorized for operational use the Ukrainian INGUAR-4 armored recovery vehicle, designed to rapidly recover most Ukrainian- and foreign-made special armored vehicles from the battlefield.
