Ukrainian Armed Forces service members win international NATO hackathon

A team of officers from the Kruty Heroes Military Institute of Telecommunications and Information Technology (MITIT) developed an AI system that integrates intelligence data and helps commanders make combat decisions more quickly.
At the international NATO TIDE Hackathon 2026 in Iceland, their solution was recognized as the best among those developed by 33 teams from more than 15 NATO member states and NATO partner countries.
Ukraine was represented by two teams in the Automated Intelligence Fusion and Analysis Informed Targeting challenge, one of the key focus areas in intelligent processing and analysis of intelligence data.
First place was won by the JAM Team from the Kruty Heroes Military Institute of Telecommunications and Information Technology.
Officers of the Department of Computer Science and Intelligent Technologies developed a prototype of the ODIN multi-agent AI system that:
- automatically fuses intelligence data from multiple sources;
- adaptively prioritizes targets;
- generates options for action (kinetic, non-kinetic, and cyber);
- reduces the decision-making cycle for commanders at all levels in real time.
“We had four days to develop a solution that automatically processes intelligence data from multiple sources and converts it into clearly prioritized targets. This is how ODIN emerged — a multi-agent AI system that integrates information, filters out irrelevant inputs, and provides commanders with a clear picture in real time. As a result, ODIN was recognized as the best among the solutions developed by teams from NATO countries, including representatives of leading technology and defense companies. And this is only the beginning — the system has the potential for further development within the NATO Next Generation Targeting initiative,” the MITIT team noted.
Fourth place among 12 teams in the same challenge was taken by the One I See team from the Unmanned Systems Forces. This further demonstrates the high level of expertise of Ukrainian military specialists in AI and in the processing of intelligence data.
The TIDE Hackathon is a key platform for enhancing interoperability and introducing innovation across NATO. The participation and victory of Ukrainian service members demonstrate the ability of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to generate digital advantage, integrate into NATO’s joint technological initiatives, and make a meaningful contribution to Euro-Atlantic security.
We congratulate the Ukrainian teams on their excellent results. We are proud of the service members who are strengthening Ukraine’s military's technological capabilities on the international stage.
