The Wolly remote-controlled weapon station has been approved for use in the Defence Forces

The Ministry of Defence has codified and adopted the Ukrainian-made remote-controlled weapon station, Wolly, for use by the Defence Forces. It is equipped with a 7.62mm or 12.7mm machine gun, an automatic ammunition feed system, a thermal imager, and a system for automatic target detection, identification, and tracking.

This was reported by the MoD’s Main Directorate for Support of the Life Cycle of Weapons and Military Equipment.

“Ukrainian weapon manufacturers have integrated technological solutions into the weapon station based on feedback from the military and the real combat experience of Ukrainian defenders. Several proposals regarding weapon station control and the automation of certain actions during its practical operation were taken into account,” said Deputy Defence Minister Dmytro Klimenkov.

The Wolly is easy to transport. The weapon station is relatively lightweight: it can be transported to the deployment site by a single service member. The battery charge lasts for several days of operation.
