EU supports development of training centres for the Armed Forces of Ukraine
With support from the European Union, funding will be provided to modernise several military training sites in Ukraine.
Planned measures include:
- improving living conditions;
- developing infrastructure to provide comfortable conditions;
- upgrading existing facilities.
The project will be implemented under the auspices of the European External Action Service (EEAS), the Military Planning and Conduct Capability (MPCC), and the EU Military Assistance Mission in support of Ukraine (EUMAM Ukraine).
The ‘Come Back Alive’ Charitable Foundation will be responsible for implementing the project in close cooperation with the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine.
Developing training centres for the Armed Forces of Ukraine
The main focus will be on developing infrastructure at Armed Forces of Ukraine training centres in Ukraine. The aim is to create a modern training environment and the conditions necessary for high-quality training of service personnel.
Modernised centres make it possible to train service personnel based on real combat experience. We thank the European Union and every partner country that has joined or will join this effort.
According to Liubov Halan, training in Ukraine is as fundamental to defence as ammunition and equipment, because weapons do not work without trained personnel.
The project is open to all of Ukraine’s partners
The project is being implemented at the initiative of the European Union. All partner countries may contribute funding to the project, with Denmark administering the funds.
The defence ministries of Ukraine and Denmark previously signed a Letter of Intent to implement a project to modernise one of the Armed Forces of Ukraine’s training centres. Within this framework, Denmark allocated approximately €33 million for training infrastructure, living and sanitary facilities, equipment, and training drones.
The Ministry of Defence of Ukraine expresses its gratitude to the European Union, Denmark, the ‘Come Back Alive’ Foundation, and all partners for their support, which helps improve the quality of training for Ukrainian service personnel.
