Denmark to finance infrastructure modernisation at an Armed Forces of Ukraine training centre

The defence ministries of Ukraine and Denmark are launching a joint infrastructure project designed to strengthen the Armed Forces of Ukraine’s capacity for personnel training.
The parties have already signed the corresponding letter of intent. The project's technical framework has also been approved. It provides for comprehensive modernisation and infrastructure upgrades at one of the Armed Forces of Ukraine’s training centres.
A key aspect of the modernisation will be improving living conditions and safety standards for service members undergoing training at the facility.
Denmark is investing approximately €33 million in training infrastructure, living and sanitary facilities, equipment, and training drones.
The ‘Come Back Alive’ International Charitable Foundation will serve as the project’s implementation partner, in line with the previously signed memorandum of cooperation with the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine.
“Our task in achieving the objectives of this war is to transform Ukraine’s military training system. High-quality training reduces losses and increases effectiveness. Modernising the training centre is one of the first steps towards this,” said Ukraine’s Minister of Defence, Mykhailo Fedorov.
The Ministry of Defence of Ukraine initiated the project, securing partner funding, developing a financial cooperation model, and — together with the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and representatives of the training centre — preparing the project’s technical specification.
The current infrastructure project is part of a broader strategy to strengthen cooperation between the defence ministries of Ukraine and Denmark.
As a result of efforts to secure funding from partner countries, Ukraine will be able to upgrade and significantly improve the existing infrastructure of its training centres.
