Codification of weapons and military equipment: The Ministry of Defence has prepared a standardized documentation package for the convenience of developers and manufacturers

The MoD’s Main Department of Support for the Lifecycle of Weapons and Military Equipment (MD SLWME) has prepared a standardized documentation package for developers and manufacturers to codify a wide range of weapons and military equipment nomenclatures - for example, vehicles, firearms, etc. 

Available for download are the following documents:

1. Template of Operational Characteristics

2. Template of Testing Programme and Procedure

3. Template of Preliminary Testing Report

4. Template of Protocol

5. Template of Technical Specifications for printing

6. Template of Technical Specifications

7. Letter to the MD SLWME for the review of the Technical Documentation for Codification

Additionally, examples of request letters from manufacturers have been crafted to streamline the testing process for weapons and military equipment.
