Boosting military aid and defense industry investments: Sergiy Boyev addresses EU Defence Policy Directors

First Deputy Minister of Defence of Ukraine, Sergiy Boyev, participated in the EU Defence Policy Directors meeting and addressed the partners.
First and foremost, Sergiy Boyev expressed gratitude to partners for the financial and military support already provided, which aids Ukraine in repelling the aggressor. He also briefed them on the operational situation on the battlefield, noting that russia’s objectives remain unchanged, and it is actively preparing to continue the war by ramping up production of missiles, drones, and other weapons.
“While Ukraine strives for a just and lasting peace, russia plans to use it to further develop its aggression and strengthen its army. Ukraine needs more weapons to be prepared for any potential threats,” emphasized Sergiy Boyev.
The First Deputy Minister of Defence of Ukraine outlined priority needs to the EU Defence Policy Directors, particularly the necessity for additional investments in the production of drones and ammunition. The need for heavy armored vehicles, air and missile defense systems, and associated missiles remains critically important. These assets are essential for stabilizing the front and protecting civilians from missile terror.
“Ukraine’s defense industry has reached a $35 billion capacity, but fully leveraging this potential requires additional funding. Investments in Ukraine’s defense industry, including through the ‘Danish model,’ play a crucial role, making it essential to continuously expand them,” proposed Sergiy Boyev.
He concluded that Ukraine remains the most committed to achieving peace. He therefore called on European partners to unite in this aspiration, as the security of the continent relies on collective efforts.
