Volodymyr Zaverukha was born in Starokonstantyniv, Khmelnytskyi Oblast, Ukraine. Has served in the Armed Forces of Ukraine from July 15, 2002, to February 8, 2016, and again since December 29, 2016, to the present.

Education

  • 2006: Military Engineering Institute of Podillia State Agrarian and Technical University (tactical level).
  • 2021: National Defence University of Ukraine (operational-tactical level).
  • 2023: Hryhorii Skovoroda University in Pereiaslav, Public Management and Administration.
  • 2025: National Defence University of Ukraine (strategic level).

Military Service Record

From 2006 to 2016, he served in the Engineering Troops of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

From 2017 to 2020, he served in the Directorate of Environmental Safety and Mine Action.

From 2020 to 2025, he held various positions, progressing from Deputy Head of Department to Deputy Director of the Department of Military-Technical Policy, Armament, and Military Equipment Development, where he also served as Head of the Armament and Military Equipment Development Directorate of the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine.

From May to July 2025, he served as First Deputy Minister for Strategic Industries of Ukraine while remaining in military service.

On 25 July 2025, he was appointed Deputy Minister of Defence of Ukraine.
