Ukrainian weapons manufacturers have proposed solutions to enhance the effectiveness of UAV-operating units

Вітчизняні зброярі запронували рішення для підвищення ефективності підрозділів БпЛА

The Ministry of Defence of Ukraine, in collaboration with a Ukrainian manufacturer, has begun testing a control center for units equipped with UAVs.

The Ministry of Defence has outlined the requirements for such a control center, including high autonomy, as well as state-of-the-art communications and electronic warfare capabilities. The new equipment model should enable the control of UAV-operating units in all weather conditions, both in stationary settings and while in motion. The vehicle's operator's compartment will be equipped with automated workstations featuring an interactive panel. The commander will be able to quickly assess the situation and make timely decisions when commanding units, thereby enhancing their operational effectiveness.

This innovative development is expected to be based on a specialized off-road vehicle with enhanced maneuverability. The all-wheel-drive vehicle is designed to ensure sufficient maneuverability and facilitate the movement of the off-road control center.

The Defence Innovation Directorate of the Ministry of Defence supervises the stages of project implementation.

“UAV-operating units have significantly expanded and now require specialized combat command equipment. Domestic weapons manufacturers have proposed a technical solution to meet this demand. The new equipment model will undergo testing and be assessed by combat unit commanders. The development will be codified and proceed to serial production if it meets the requirements. We need to maintain a technological advantage over the enemy,” said the First Deputy Minister of Defence of Ukraine, Lieutenant General Ivan Havryliuk.
