Ukraine to receive over €165 million from the Demining Capability Coalition in 2026
In 2026, the Demining Capability Coalition plans to allocate at least €165 million to supply Ukraine with equipment and machinery.
The preliminary agreements were announced during the visit to Ukraine by Rolandas Kiškis, the Coalition’s Coordinator and representative of the Ministry of National Defence of the Republic of Lithuania.
A draft Operational Plan for 2026 aimed at implementing the Coalition’s Development Roadmap was discussed during a meeting with experts from the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine and the Armed Forces of Ukraine. It was determined that the funds will be used to procure mechanized demining vehicles, minesweepers, remote demining systems, pickup trucks, metal detectors, night vision devices, explosive ordnance disposal suits, and anti-drone equipment.
The implementation of the planned measures will substantially reinforce Ukraine’s combat and humanitarian demining capabilities, contributing to faster clearance of explosive ordnance from Ukrainian territory and its subsequent return to economic use.
In addition, international partners are mobilizing additional resources to conduct specialized training, demining courses, and the preparation of Ukrainian specialists in accordance with NATO and IMAS standards.
The meeting was also attended by representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Iceland and the NATO Support Group in Ukraine.
According to the Main Directorate for Mine Action, Civil Protection and Environmental Safety, the Demining Capability Coalition includes 23 countries: Ukraine, Belgium, the United Kingdom, Greece, Denmark, Estonia, Ireland, Iceland, Spain, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Moldova, Germany, Poland, Slovakia, Hungary, France, Finland, Croatia, Czechia, Sweden, and Japan. Canada, the Netherlands, and the United States of America participate in the Coalition as observers and partners.
