Ukraine and Spain stand ready to deepen their cooperation in digital defense solutions, particularly within the framework of the IT Coalition and other defense technology initiatives.

This was discussed during a meeting between Kateryna Chernohorenko, Deputy Minister of Defence of Ukraine for Digital Development, Digital Transformation, and Digitalization, and Ricardo López-Aranda Jagu, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Spain to Ukraine.

“We are grateful to count Spain among our allies—its consistent support for Ukraine since the outset of the full-scale invasion, including through assistance packages and participation in the IT Coalition, is deeply appreciated. I am confident that we have much to offer one another as we continue our cooperation. That’s why Ukraine is open to closer military cooperation,” said Kateryna Chernohorenko.

In response, the Spanish Ambassador expressed his admiration for Ukraine’s progress in the digitalization of its defense sector and reaffirmed Spain’s interest in learning from the experience of the Defence Forces of Ukraine.

During the meeting, the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine presented a portfolio of digital products that can be tailored to the needs of international partners for potential export. Particular focus was placed on the efforts of the newly established Space Policy Directorate and the strategic roadmap for developing the defense space sector.

Kateryna Chernohorenko also expressed her appreciation to Ricardo López-Aranda Jagu for Spain’s steadfast support of Ukraine and its engagement in the IT Coalition of partner nations.
