Ukraine and Poland unite efforts to defend shared values
The Republic of Poland is a steadfast partner of Ukraine in resisting russian aggression. In terms of military aid for Ukraine and support to Ukrainian refugees, Poland has contributed the largest amount as a percentage of GDP, at 4.91%.
This was announced by the First Deputy Minister of Defence of Ukraine, Lieutenant General Ivan Havryliuk, during the ‘Polish-Ukrainian Military Cooperation: Traditions and Prospects’ conference, organized by the Mieroszewski Centre. The First Deputy Minister of Defence expressed gratitude to the people and government of Poland for their steadfast support and comprehensive assistance. He extended particular gratitude for the decision to provide an additional military aid package to meet the needs of the Defence Forces of Ukraine.
“Poland was the first to supply Ukraine with heavy weaponry, initiate the tank coalition, and begin transferring combat aircraft. Poland is currently involved in most of the Capability Coalitions established to provide aid based on the specific needs of the Defence Forces of Ukraine,” emphasized the First Deputy Minister of Defence of Ukraine.
Poland and Ukraine are uniting their efforts in the face of ongoing threats from russia, underscoring the importance of regional solidarity in safeguarding shared values. Our countries are evaluating different collaboration opportunities to bolster both nations' military potential.
At the conference, representatives of the governments of Ukraine and Poland discussed potential areas for further cooperation, including joint production of weapons and military equipment, collaboration on the repair of Western-made military equipment, and cooperation in the procurement and supply of defense goods.
