Ukraine and Lithuania discussed steps to strengthen the defense industry and develop joint projects

Україна та Литва обговорили кроки щодо посилення ОПК

First Deputy Minister of Defence of Ukraine Sergii Boyev met with Lithuanian Deputy Foreign Minister Julius Pranevičius to discuss ways to strengthen and unify Europe.

The Ukrainian side briefed the Lithuanian delegation on the current situation along the front line and shared intelligence indicating russia’s preparations for continued warfare. Sergii Boyev noted that russia has not abandoned its objectives, as evidenced by the uninterrupted activity of its defense industry.

“Russia and its allies are evolving in the assets they employ. Sanctions alone are insufficient, necessitating increased global pressure. Europe must be united, and defending the continent must be a common goal,” stated Deputy Minister of Defence Sergii Boyev.

He underscored priority domains in which Europe must enhance its capabilities to ensure readiness for defending its population and the continent. Support from iran and north korea strengthens russia on the battlefield and in securing critical resources and components. At the same time, centralized production of missiles, ammunition, and drones gives the enemy a tactical edge.

“The war in Ukraine is a collective fight, requiring joint efforts to bolster the capabilities of both Ukraine and Europe as a whole. You can be assured that we are ready to cooperate and share experience at all levels," said Julius Pranevičius, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania.
