The Ministry of Defence has codified devices for infantry weaponry

Міноборони кодифікувало пристрої для піхотного озброєння

The Ministry of Defence has codified and adopted a range of devices and adaptations for the use of domestic and foreign firearms and grenade launchers on military vehicles and stationary positions within the Defence Forces of Ukraine. The devices were designed and produced by Ukrainian weapon manufacturers.

This was reported by the MoD’s Main Directorate for Support of the Life Cycle of Weapons and Military Equipment.

In particular, a tripod mortar mount for the Mk 19 40 mm automatic mounted grenade launcher, a compact infantry tripod for the Browning M2 heavy machine gun, a universal mounting cradle, and a pickup truck bed universal gun mount.

Developed by Ukrainian engineers, the tripod mortar mount enables the Mk 19 40 mm automatic grenade launcher to engage targets using indirect fire trajectories from concealed positions. The device features a rugged construction and adjustment screws, ensuring firing stability and smooth adjustment of vertical and horizontal targeting angles. Across the full range of vertical adjustments, the horizontal plane of the tripod mortar mount maintains a level orientation, ensuring no deviation in the rotation axis.

The compact infantry tripod is a domestic equivalent of the original foreign-made tripod for a heavy-caliber machine gun. The tripod can be easily assembled and placed in a stationary position. With additional adapters, it is compatible with a wide range of machine guns and grenade launcher models.

The universal mounting cradle optimizes weapons mounting on infantry tripods, automotive vehicles, watercraft, armored vehicles, ground robotic systems, or automated turrets. When paired with a heavy machine gun, the device mitigates recoil during firing, thereby enhancing firing accuracy and reducing mechanical and vibrational stress on the sighting systems.

The truck bed universal gun mount is designed to mount heavy machine guns on tactical pickup trucks. The device features an offset from the mounting center to accommodate the weapon’s length, facilitate optimal positioning of the gunner in the vehicle bed, and enable dual-axis adjustment. The rotation mechanisms incorporate maintenance-free bushings that require no lubrication. The mounting interface supports rapid installation, removal, and replacement of the weapon and its mounting cradle.
