The Military Institute for Tank Troops invites future platoon and company commanders to enroll in its academic programs

The Ministry of Defence of Ukraine reminds: the admission campaign to military educational institutions is underway. The Military Institute for Tank Troops of the National Technical University “Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute” invites future officers to pursue their education here. The Institute trains commanders capable of acting decisively in combat and making sound decisions under challenging conditions.
“Studying at the Institute presents a unique opportunity for the full realization of potential. This is where officers are forged—leaders entrusted with the fate of combat units and the future of Ukraine. They acquire not only comprehensive military expertise but also essential skills in leadership, discipline, resilience, and teamwork. “This is more than a military career; it is a path of honor, courage, and service to the nation,” said Major Serhii Baranov, Secretary of the Institute's Admissions Committee.
The Institute trains future officers in the following specialties:
- Military command and control (by branches of the Armed Forces) – Specialization: “Command and Control of Tank Troop Units.” Graduates are assigned as commanders of tank platoons and companies.
- Weapons and military equipment – Specialization: “Operation and Maintenance of Armored Vehicles and Armament.” Cadets are trained to serve as commanders of repair platoons, deputy company commanders responsible for armament, or assistants to chiefs of armored vehicle services.
- Support of Troops/Forces – Specialization: “Nuclear, Chemical, and Biological (NCB) Protection and Environmental Safety of the Troops.” The Institute trains future commanders for NCB protection platoons, reconnaissance platoons, thermobaric launcher platoons, and aerosol camouflage units.
How to enroll in the Military Institute of Tank Troops of the National Technical University “Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute”?
Admission to the Institute is based on the results of the National Multi-Subject Test (NMT) from 2022–2025 or the competitive entrance exams in selected subjects for 2025 (applicant’s choice), along with a medical examination (by Military Medical Commission), psychological evaluation, and physical fitness test.
Submission of documents through Territorial Recruitment and Social Support Centers (enlistment offices) or Personnel Services of military units or institutions is open until July 1, 2025. Applicants may also submit their applications directly to the Institute's Admissions Committee until July 20, 2025.
For full-time study toward a bachelor’s degree, the Institute admits Ukrainian citizens who have completed general secondary, vocational, professional-technical, pre-higher, or higher education; meet the established requirements for military service; successfully pass the entrance examinations; and meet the following criteria:
- Male and female civilians and lyceum students aged 17 to 30, including those who turn 17 in the year of enrollment;
- Military personnel and individuals liable for military service who do not hold officer ranks, aged up to 30 at the time of enrollment.
