The Government has supported the implementation of the ‘Wounded Warrior Package’ developed by the Ministry of Defence

This year, the ‘Wounded Warrior Package’ is being introduced, which includes an adaptive clothing kit and personal hygiene items. The package will be distributed to wounded and sick military personnel, police officers, as well as for rank-and-file and senior civil defense members.

The Cabinet of Ministers approved a resolution on certain aspects of providing adaptive clothing and hygiene items developed by the Ministry of Defence.

“A person who has been wounded or severely injured should focus on recovery rather than be burdened by daily routine obstacles. The ‘Wounded Warrior Package’ will help individuals feel more comfortable, as the set addresses their basic needs during the first days after hospitalization. The adaptive clothing is designed to maintain its functionality even under challenging circumstances,” said Deputy Minister of Defence of Ukraine, Brigadier General of Justice Serhii Melnyk.

Adaptive clothing is designed to meet the needs of the wounded and individuals with limited mobility, aiming to:

• Facilitate donning – it is equipped with special fasteners that allow for quick and easy donning without excessive effort;
• Ensure comfort – the clothing is made from soft, elastic cotton materials that do not constrict the body and allow free movement. This is especially important for those who spend extended periods of time sitting or lying in bed;
• Enhance functionality – loose-fitting clothing featuring side fasteners, widened sleeves and  trouser legs, an adjustable waistband, and pockets.
• Enhance self-sufficiency – an accessible design enables wounded or sick service members to dress independently, fostering a sense of autonomy and dignity.

The ‘Wounded Warrior Package’ includes a dedicated set of adaptive clothing and a set of essential personal hygiene items.

In particular, the adaptive clothing set includes:

• Adaptive sleeveless shirt
• Adaptive shorts
• Adaptive short-sleeve shirt
• Adaptive long-sleeve shirt
• Adaptive trousers
• Socks
• Barrack slippers
• Towel

The set of essential personal hygiene items includes:

• Bath towel
• Disposable razor
• Shaving foam (tube 100 milliliters)
• Toothbrush
• Toothpaste (tube 100 milliliters)
• Comb
• Shampoo (200 milliliters)
• Shower gel (250 milliliters)
• Deodorant/antiperspirant
• Antiseptic (tube 30 milliliters)
• Wet wipes (pack of 100 pieces)
• Dry wipes (pack of 100 pieces)
• Moisturizing cream (tube 75 milliliters)
• Paper hygiene products for sanitary use
• Case (organizer) for the set

Additionally, for women, the following items are included:

• Women's hairbrush
• Daily and menstrual pads (pack of 20 pieces)
• Cosmetic cotton pads (pack of 50 pieces)
• Cotton swabs (pack of 100 pieces)
• Hair elastic

Dedicated consideration is given to bedridden patients and individuals with limited mobility:
