The Army+ has launched ‘Financial Literacy’ training course
The Army+ app has introduced a new training course for military personnel, ‘Financial Literacy.’
This course provides a practical guide to effective personal finance management while in military service. It explains how to plan a budget, save, invest, and understand taxes and insurance. The course is tailored to the needs of service members, considering their income specifics, available benefits, risks, and real-life scenarios.
“Our course portfolio continues to grow, now encompassing not only combat-related topics but also a range of other essential subjects. Recently, we launched courses on Ukrainian history and the DOT-Chain system, and now we have added one on financial literacy—a skill that is especially relevant today. We continue transforming Army+ into an ecosystem that can respond to any request from a service member,” said Kateryna Chernohorenko, Deputy Minister of Defence for Digital Development.
The course was developed by:
- Oleksii Havrysh, a lecturer in finance at the Kyiv-Mohyla Business School and an expert in financial management and investments.
- Liudmyla Darahan, a lawyer and member of the supervisory board of PJSC Ukrnafta, who previously served as State Secretary of the Ministry of Defence (2023–2024).
- Olha Fabrycheva, legal expert representing the Public Union “Foundation for Support of Reforms in Ukraine.”
The course includes 20 lessons, with each module concluding with a knowledge acquisition test. After completing all modules, participants must pass a final exam to receive an electronic certificate.
Army+ now offers a total of 10 educational courses. 70,800 service members are currently undergoing training, with 28,500 having successfully completed at least one course. The most popular courses are ‘UAV Fundamentals: An Introduction to Unmanned Systems” and “Information Resilience: Cybersecurity.”
The course was developed within the framework of an initiative supported by the Public Union “Foundation for Support of Reforms in Ukraine” and is part of a program backed by the UK Special Adviser on Defence, funded by the UK government.
