Sergiy Boyev held talks with Estonia on defense industry funding and accelerating deliveries

Deputy Minister of Defence of Ukraine Sergiy Boyev held talks on key security cooperation matters with Kaimo Kuusk, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Defence of Estonia.

The Estonian delegation arrived in Kyiv to mark Ukraine’s Independence Day and participate in the ‘Defence Cooperation Forum: Future Warfare.’ The Ukrainian side thanked the partners for their visit on this important day.

“Estonia has supported Ukraine long before russia’s full-scale invasion and continues to provide assistance today — we greatly appreciate this. In view of the challenges we face, we must be stronger than ever. Robust partnership with Estonia remains crucial for bolstering our capabilities,” emphasized Sergiy Boyev.

During the talks, the Ukrainian side briefed the Estonian delegation on the current battlefield situation and provided intelligence on the aggressor’s plans.

The parties additionally addressed ways to expedite the delivery of assistance. The potential for testing Estonian defense industry products under real combat conditions for their further development was also discussed.

Furthermore, Sergiy Boyev informed partners about Ukraine’s defense industry achievements and underlined the importance of securing funding to fully exploit the sector’s capabilities. In this context, he highlighted the EU SAFE initiative and the President of Ukraine’s ‘Build with Ukraine’ initiative as instruments for supporting Ukraine’s defense sector.

“By supporting Ukraine, we invest in our shared freedom. Estonia will continue to stand by Ukraine and is prepared to explore new forms of support and cooperation," emphasized Kaimo Kuusk, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Defence of Estonia.
