Rustem Umerov: Ukraine stands ready for a sustained ceasefire and the establishment of reliable guarantees

Ukraine’s Minister of Defence, Rustem Umerov, held a meeting with Türkiye’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Hakan Fidan.
The Minister of Defence of Ukraine thanked Türkiye for its steadfast support, active role in mediation, and efforts toward achieving a just peace.
In turn, Mr. Fidan reaffirmed that Türkiye remains committed to supporting Ukraine and advancing peaceful efforts.
At the meeting, First Deputy Minister of Defence Sergiy Boyev outlined the key areas in which Ukraine requires support:
- Investments in the defense industry;
- Supply of equipment and air defense systems;
- Munitions for air defense systems;
- Artillery shells of main calibers;
- Strengthening long-range capabilities.
“Ukraine has significant potential to develop defense cooperation with Türkiye,” emphasized Rustem Umerov.
Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, General Oleksandr Syrskyi, provided an update on the operational situation at the front. Despite significant losses, the enemy continues offensive attempts.
Additionally, the Ukrainian side briefed the Turkish delegation on the security situation. Intelligence representatives, Lieutenant General Kyrylo Budanov and Major General Vadym Skibitskyi, noted that russia is intensifying its efforts: increasing troop deployments, escalating attacks on civilian cities, and ramping up weapons production.
“This once again proves the kremlin’s unchanged goal — the occupation of Ukraine. Together with my team, I emphasized that Ukraine seeks peace. We are ready for a lasting ceasefire and to establish reliable security guarantees, which we are already working on with our partners. “By strengthening Ukraine, we ensure a reliable and lasting peace,” emphasized Rustem Umerov.
