Number of training flights for cadet pilots to increase, training areas to expand – Serhii Melnyk
This announcement was made by Deputy Defense Minister of Ukraine Serhii Melnyk during an interdepartmental meeting that included representatives from the Department of Military Education and Science, the Main Directorate of State Aviation of the Ministry of Defense, the Air Force Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, as well as military and civil aviation agencies.
Brigadier General of Justice Serhiy Melnyk stated that a decision has been made to intensify the training of Ukrainian cadet pilots. Under the new program, the number of training flights will increase, and the geographic scope of training will expand, allowing for the preparation of more highly qualified pilots.
The basic flight training for cadets from the Kharkiv National Air Force University will be conducted at an accelerated pace. This approach aims to ensure that graduates can quickly transition to training on modern military aircraft, including Western models.
“The basic training program needs to be optimized. This will enable us to train more pilots to defend our country. Ukrainian combat aviation must eventually gain air superiority, as this paves the way for the success of our actions on the frontlines,” noted Brigadier General of Justice Serhii Melnyk.
