Nearly 950 anti-Shahed interceptor drones per day: the MoD’s Defence Procurement Agency increased deliveries to the military in December
In December, contracts executed by the MoD’s Defence Procurement Agency (DPA) ensured the Defence Forces received an average of nearly 950 interceptor drones per day to counter enemy Shahed-type UAVs.
“We are ramping up deliveries of anti-Shahed capabilities for our warriors. These systems strengthen protection against drone terror while preserving resources for intercepting cruise and ballistic missiles,” said Ukraine’s Minister of Defence Denys Shmyhal.
The MoD’s Defence Procurement Agency continues to conclude new contracts and scale up deliveries of interceptor drones for the Armed Forces. The DPA has already launched procurement of weapons and equipment, including anti-Shahed UAVs, for 2026.
“Supplying the military with interceptor drones is a priority for the DPA. We are working systematically with the market to ensure continuity and completeness of deliveries. As of December, we have contracts with more than 10 manufacturers of such UAVs,” said Arsen Zhumadilov, Director of the Defence Procurement Agency.
In addition, the DPA has added tactical-level interceptor drones to the DOT-Chain Defence IT system. This enables frontline brigades to independently select the assets they need to counter enemy reconnaissance and strike UAVs, such as Orlan or Zala.
