MoD reports: Since the beginning of the year, the rights of nearly 1,000 military personnel and their family members have been restored

Since the beginning of 2025, the Ministry of Defence's Central Department for the Protection of Service Members' Rights has reviewed 1,993 appeals and requests from service members and their families.

As a result of the measures taken, the rights of 980 individuals have been reinstated, and 23 reports of criminal offenses have been forwarded to the State Bureau of Investigations (SBI). A total of 16 scheduled and 2 unscheduled inspections have been carried out. The processing of the remaining appeals is ongoing.

During the last week of April, 107 appeals were received, the rights of 8 individuals were restored, 1 notification was forwarded to the SBI, and 6 scheduled inspections were carried out.

“Service members want to be heard and turn to us for protection. We respond, investigate, and provide assistance. Each appeal is professionally reviewed within the framework of applicable legislation. When necessary, we forward materials to law enforcement authorities. Safeguarding the rights of service members is both our duty and a priority focus of the agency’s efforts,” stated Ruslan Tsyhankov, Acting Head of the Central Directorate for the Protection of Military Personnel's Rights.
