MoD launches testing of updated Reserve+ deferment for parents with three or more children
Parents with three or more children will soon be able to apply for deferment through the Reserve+ app, regardless of marital status. The Ministry of Defence is launching beta testing of the feature. To participate, applicants must complete a form.
What has changed?
Previously, parents with three or more children could apply for deferment online only if all the children were born within the same marriage. Now, the verification process will take into account all children under 18, regardless of whether they were born within the current marriage or not. The system will also automatically check the Unified Register of Debtors for any outstanding child support arrears.
Who is eligible to participate in the testing?
Parents with three or more children who do not yet have an approved deferment are invited to participate in the testing if the following conditions are met:
- have three or more children under 18, with all children taken into account regardless of marital status;
- are not listed as child support debtors — meaning they either have no arrears or their debt does not exceed the equivalent of three months of payments;
- the parent’s personal details (full name, date of birth, taxpayer identification number) are correctly recorded in state registers;
- the children must have Ukraine listed as their place of birth.
Important note
- At the initial stage, the feature will be available only to users on the beta testers list. Following the completion of testing, the feature will be made available in Reserve+ to all parents with three or more children.
- If registry data are outdated, or if child support arrears exceed the equivalent of three months of payments, deferment will not be granted. In such cases, users must first update their details in the registers and settle any outstanding arrears.
Deferment in Reserve+ is granted without certificates or paper applications, as the system automatically verifies data through interoperability with state registers. Users submit a request in the app, the system verifies the grounds, and if they are confirmed, deferment information appears in the electronic military registration document. This process usually takes from a few minutes to several hours. This approach ensures transparency, reduces the impact of human error, and lowers the workload on government agencies.
