MoD fully met the needs of female service members for field uniforms in 2025
By the end of 2025, the requirements of female service members for field suits and base layers had been fully met. This was achieved through centralized procurement of specialized uniforms and base layers designed with women’s physiological characteristics in mind.
In particular, in 2025, the Ministry of Defence, through the State Operator for Non-Lethal Acquisition (DOT), procured and delivered more than 30,000 sets of field suits to military units, including 500 sets of enhanced-durability suits (Class 13) for operations in challenging conditions.
Additionally, over 100,000 units of base layers were procured and supplied, with different types designed to meet seasonal needs and operating conditions.
All uniforms are designed with a specialized cut and high-quality materials to ensure comfort and functionality during operational tasks. The procurement covered a wide range of sizes to ensure proper fit for every female service member. This represents an important step toward fostering a barrier-free environment in the Armed Forces.
