‘Iron Soldiers’: A multifunctional ground robotic system could reinforce the capabilities of our military units

«Залізні солдати»: арсенал наших підрозділів може посилити багатофункціональний НРК

The Ministry of Defence of Ukraine has codified and authorized the Ukrainian-made TERMIT unmanned ground robotic system for operational use within the units of the Defence Forces of Ukraine. This was reported by the MoD’s Main Directorate for Support of the Life Cycle of Weapons and Military Equipment.

TERMIT is a tracked robotic system — a new iteration of the platform. Many units of the previous model are already in use on the front lines, performing tasks such as logistics support and enemy surveillance.

TERMIT systems can also serve as platforms for weapon stations. The new version exhibits enhanced dynamic capabilities and holds potential for additional improvements.

TERMIT is capable of carrying up to 300 kilograms of payload. Thanks to its low profile, low center of gravity, and tracked design, this ground robot can traverse a variety of terrains and surfaces, including rough off-road terrain, steep slopes, obstacles, trenches, and more. Its battery capacity enables several hours of continuous operation, allowing the robot to cover several dozen kilometers.

Depending on mission requirements, the TERMIT ground robotic system is manufactured in multiple configurations. There are platforms configured for medical evacuation, logistics support, mine laying, and transporting additional equipment.

A reminder to defense equipment manufacturers: helpful information on the procedure for codifying new models of weapons and military equipment is available here.
