Glib Kanevskyi: Over UAH 44 billion will be allocated for the procurement of FPV drones, including those operated via fiber optics

The Ministry of Defence of Ukraine has outlined its procurement plans for unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) for 2025.

The presentation was held during a meeting with representatives from the ‘Technological Forces of Ukraine,’ an alliance of leading manufacturers of innovative defense systems.

The event participants discussed expanding the production and supply of unmanned systems for the Armed Forces of Ukraine, as well as streamlining bureaucratic procedures to ensure the quicker integration of new drone models into the military.

“Ensuring technological advantage over the enemy is one of the primary objectives for 2025. While last year, the main financial focus was on the procurement of long-range deepstrike systems, this year, more than UAH 44 billion is planned for the procurement of FPV drones, including models operated via fiber optics,” said Glib Kanevskyi, Director of the Procurement Policy Department at the Ministry of Defence.

Special attention was given during the meeting to minimizing the delivery time of drones from production to combat units, alongside expanding the range of suppliers and manufacturers of defense products.

The Ministry of Defence of Ukraine highlights the importance of ongoing dialogue with manufacturers. Such meetings facilitate the prompt resolution of critical matters related to military supply, the progress of domestic technologies, and the optimization of logistics processes.
