Estonia has offered leveraging its defense industry capabilities to support the Security and Defence Forces of Ukraine

A Ministry of Defence of Ukraine delegation discussed priorities for security assistance and the capabilities of Estonia’s defense industry with Estonia’s Minister of Defence, Hanno Pevkur, during his working visit to Kyiv.
The negotiations involved Deputy Minister of Defence for European Integration Sergiy Boyev; Deputy Minister of Defence of Ukraine for Digital Development, Digital Transformation, and Digitalization Kateryna Chernohorenko; and Deputy Minister of Defence Valerii Churkin.
The Minister of Defence of Estonia, Hanno Pevkur, proposed a plan to leverage the capabilities of Estonia’s defense industry to benefit Ukraine and provided an overview of the production capabilities.
“Estonia will continue to assist and support Ukraine—our budget allocates over 0.25% of GDP for this purpose. We are committed to ensuring Ukraine has everything necessary to achieve a just and lasting peace,” stated Hanno Pevkur, Estonia’s Minister of Defence.
Additionally, Estonia will sustain its efforts to supply the Ukrainian military with ammunition. This year, it will allocate funding to other critical support areas: EUR 5 million will be allocated to the IT Coalition, and another EUR 5 million will be directed toward training Ukrainian military personnel.
The parties also agreed to intensify efforts in supplying Ukraine with drones. Estonia, a member of the Drone Coalition, possesses its own production capabilities in this domain.
“The cooperation framework with Estonia has proven effective, as it enables us to select the necessary capabilities to support the Defense Forces of Ukraine. This serves as a model for Ukraine’s interactions with other allies. We have already provided the Estonian side with a tailored list of priorities,” emphasized Deputy Minister of Defence of Ukraine Sergiy Boyev.
Furthermore, Deputy Minister Kateryna Chernohorenko presented Ukraine's advancements in digital technologies to the Estonian side. She briefed the partners on the achievements of the applications developed by the Ministry of Defence team and the DELTA system advancements.
“Developing user-friendly and technologically advanced solutions is crucial for enhancing the interaction between military personnel and the state. We are setting an example for other nations in advancing digital services, not only at the civilian level but also within the military. I am grateful to Estonia for supporting our initiatives and for its active leadership in the IT Coalition,” underscored Kateryna Chernohorenko.
The leadership of the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine expressed gratitude to Hanno Pevkur personally and to the Estonian people for their unwavering support on the international stage, as well as for their consistent military, financial, and humanitarian assistance.
