Update to the ‘Impulse’ personnel record-keeping system: new reports, staffing table imports, and asynchronous document generation

The ‘Impulse’ system for accurate military personnel record-keeping has been updated to enhance reporting capabilities, support staffing table management, enable large-scale data processing, and ensure stable operation under high loads.

Advanced reporting and asynchronous document generation

The system can now generate new reports covering:

  • staffing levels by position;
  • personnel headcount;
  • personnel transfers and movements.

The system now includes expanded data aggregation features and asynchronous report generation, meaning the document is generated in the background while the user continues to work.

In addition, the system can now generate large reports involving the processing of significant data volumes, enhancing performance and stability in combat conditions.

Import of new staffing tables and simplified transition for military units

Another significant update is the import of new staffing tables in the staffing table editor. Military units can now transition quickly to new staffing tables: data can be uploaded directly from electronic personnel records logbook (EPRL) files, significantly reducing the amount of manual processing for users.

The new version also includes the following updates:

  • import of education records through the Toolkit;
  • enhancements to the education record registration section;
  • implementation of rank change history imports;
  • expanded import of EPRL tabs to simplify initial system population;
  • addition of data imports covering permanent personnel, temporarily assigned personnel, and absent personnel.

Planned future updates include staffing table updates, enhanced automation of system population and report generation, as well as new data management and document generation features.

‘Impulse’ is an official personnel record-keeping system that continues to evolve as a technological foundation for modern, systematic personnel data management in the military. The system rollout has begun in the Air Assault Forces and the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. More than 100 military units have transitioned to daily use of the “Impulse” system.
