Ukrainian defenders have neutralized more than 350,000 enemy UAVs since the start of the year
Units of the Defence Forces of Ukraine have neutralized more than 350,000 unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) since the start of the year.
Every hit is recorded on video in the DELTA combat system and verified by the Brave1 defence innovations cluster.
More than 320,000 of the drones destroyed were enemy fixed-wing and multirotor UAVs brought down by unmanned systems units of the Defence Forces, including around 220,000 fixed-wing drones and 100,000 multirotors.
In addition, unmanned systems units, mobile fire groups and army aviation shot down 31,000 Shahed-type drones.
Every enemy drone destroyed means lives of Ukrainian service members and civilians potentially saved.
Verifying hits on russian drones in DELTA
Hits on russian UAVs are confirmed in the DELTA system, the digital core of command and control on the modern battlefield and one of the technological solutions that are key to Ukraine’s advantage over the enemy.
This makes it possible to track the specifics of every shoot-down and to scale up faster the solutions that deliver results.
Why destroying russian UAVs matters
Destroying russian fixed-wing UAVs prevents the enemy from running reconnaissance in the Ukrainian rear, carrying out strikes or adjusting long-range strikes on civilian sites, including critical infrastructure.
Shooting down multirotor drones, in turn, stops the enemy from locating and hitting positions held by Ukrainian defenders and equipment on the front line.
As previously reported, the Defence Forces of Ukraine shot down nearly 24,000 multirotor UAVs in August. A further 35,000 fixed-wing drones were destroyed during the last month of summer.
