More than 3,000 russian UGVs struck by drones since the start of the year
Since the beginning of the year, unmanned systems units of the Defence Forces of Ukraine have struck more than 3,000 russian unmanned ground vehicles (UGVs).
These figures are based on data from the DELTA combat system.
Every enemy ground drone put out of action disrupts enemy logistics, reduces the enemy’s reconnaissance and assault capabilities, and forces the enemy to compensate for the loss of robotic platforms with additional resources and manpower.
More enemy ground drones were destroyed or knocked out in August than in any other month – over 500. Overall, the month-by-month figures for russian UGVs struck since the start of the year are as follows:
- January: 460;
- February: 293;
- March: 215;
- April: 223;
- May: 323;
- June: 370;
- July: 456;
- August: 511.
During the first half of September, Ukrainian defenders also struck nearly 200 russian UGVs using unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs).
The Ministry of Defence is systematically strengthening the Ukrainian military’s capabilities to strike enemy targets using UAVs. As part of these efforts, the Defence Procurement Agency DOT is launching a competitive procurement of radio-controlled reconnaissance-and-strike FPV drones that meet the tactical and technical specifications (TTS) set by the Ministry of Defence.
This is one of the main types of drones the Defence Forces of Ukraine use to carry out combat missions on the front line.
