The Ministry of Defence has reinstated the rights of 168 service members at one of the military higher education institutions in Kyiv

The Central Department for the Protection of Service Members' Rights has reinstated the rights of 168 regular service members from one of the higher military educational institutions in Kyiv, who were unjustifiably removed from the food supply.

As a result of reviewing the service member's appeals and the actions taken, a decision was made to restore their rights.

“This is just one example of the successful operation of mechanisms designed to protect service members' rights. It is crucial that every service member is aware of where to seek assistance in the event of violations. Last year, the Ministry of Defence established a dedicated unit—the Central Department for the Protection of Service Members' Rights—which has already reinstated the rights of over 2,000 service members,” said Deputy Minister of Defence of Ukraine, Brigadier General of Justice Serhii Melnyk.

To strengthen the protection of service members' rights, the Central Directorate actively cooperates with the Presidential Commissioner for the Protection of the Rights of Military Personnel, Olha Kobylynska (Reshetylova).

In the event of a violation of their rights, military personnel and their family members can appeal to the Central Directorate or directly to the Presidential Commissioner. The procedure is as follows:

  • Draft a written statement with a detailed description of the issue
  • Include relevant supporting documents
  • Send the statement along with the supporting documents to the provided email
  • Provide an email address and phone number for response
