The Minister of Defence of Ukraine, Denys Shmyhal, held talks with Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence of Poland, Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz.

"Poland is our reliable friend and partner, which has supported Ukraine since the first minutes of the full-scale invasion," said the Minister of Defence of Ukraine.

Denys Shmyhal thanked his Polish counterpart for military assistance, training of Ukrainian service members, and unwavering support.

The parties discussed the development of joint production both in Ukraine and in Poland. Denys Shmyhal expressed confidence that the private sector and the defence industry of both countries have significant potential for cooperation and development.

As noted by the Minister of Defence of Ukraine, an important tool for such cooperation could be the Security Action for Europe (SAFE) initiative – a large-scale €150 billion EU defence investment program. He called on Poland to actively invest in the priority areas under this mechanism.

"We also discussed cooperation through NATO instruments and joint efforts to counter threats. Together, we are strengthening the security of Ukraine and all of Europe," concluded Denys Shmyhal.
