The Ministry of Defence has codified about 20 models of vehicles for carrying heavy and bulky cargoes
Since the beginning of the large-scale russian invasion, the Ministry of Defence has codified and adopted about twenty models of specialized vehicles and automotive equipment designed to transport heavy and bulky cargoes for the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The Ukrainian Armed Forces' fleet of specialized vehicles has been augmented by heavy-duty semitrailers (so-called “lowboys”), semi-trailer trucks, and conventional truck units manufactured by renowned automotive groups from the USA, Europe, and Asia. These also include the products of domestic companies.
Efficient logistics and rapid delivery of military equipment and vehicles are critical in a high-intensity war. Semi-trailer trucks and heavy-duty trailers are needed for transporting various weapons, military equipment, and military vehicles, including tanks, self-propelled artillery systems, armored fighting vehicles, other bulky military cargo, etc.
Troops can quickly relocate armored vehicles and other heavy equipment by utilizing specialized vehicles tailored for transporting large and heavy loads. One of the benefits of this logistics approach is that it saves the valuable engine resources of heavy armored vehicles. Besides that, heavy-duty trucks reliably transport damaged armored vehicles and equipment to repair bases.
