The ‘Lyut’ (Rage) ground robotic system will reinforce our military units with a new soldier-robot

The Ministry of Defence has codified and adopted the domestically produced ‘Lyut’ (Rage) ground robotic system for deployment within the units of the Defence Forces of Ukraine. This system is intended to perform various tasks in challenging environments, such as surveillance and fire support for our units' operations. This was reported by the MoD’s Main Directorate for Support of the Life Cycle of Weapons and Military Equipment.

The ‘Lyut’ (Rage) robotic system has been tested in real combat conditions. The robot is armed with a 7.62-caliber machine gun and additional equipment to detect and engage targets day and night.  This ground robotic system is sufficiently compact to fit into the cargo area of a military pickup truck and is equipped with a silent electric motor. The battery's charge lasts for a significant amount of operational time. With its relatively high ground clearance, the robot can traverse steadily across rough terrain.  The 'Lyut' (Rage) operates effectively within a wide range of temperatures.

The system is controlled by the operator from a safe position, avoiding exposure to danger. The primary task of ground robots is to bolster our units and replace soldiers in the most dangerous areas.

A reminder to defense equipment manufacturers: helpful information on the procedure for codifying new models of weapons and military equipment is available here.
