Since the beginning of this year, the Ministry of Defence has adopted more than 600 new models of domestically produced weapons and military equipment

In the first nine months of 2024, the Ministry of Defence codified and adopted over 900 weapons and military equipment models for use in the Defence Forces, with over 600 being made domestically. The year 2023 saw the codification of 405 weapons and military equipment models, with 244 being produced domestically. This was announced by the First Deputy Minister of Defence of Ukraine, Lieutenant General Ivan Havryliuk.

The main innovations introduced by the defense industry that have been codified and adopted include motor vehicles, UAVs, ammunition, electronic warfare systems, communication equipment, engineering means, and ground robotic platforms.

“In 2024, domestic weapon manufacturers not only increased production of a wide range of weapons and military equipment but also created many new models. Specifically, this is about the production of high-tech weapons, the role of which is significantly increasing on the battlefield. We are presently engaged in several significant projects aimed at enhancing our firepower. I am refraining from elaboration as this needs quiet,” said Lieutenant General Ivan Havryliuk.

Of the more than 600 domestic models of weapons and military equipment adopted this year, nearly half were adopted in the third quarter.

“To enhance the Defence Forces' capabilities in the skies and on land and to broaden the production of effective warfare tools, it is crucial to boost military-technical collaboration with partners. The more we attract financial and technological investments, the less chances the kremlin will have to implement its aggressive plans,” emphasized Ivan Havryliuk.

Manufacturers and designers of weapons and military equipment are encouraged to contact the Main Department of Support for the Lifecycle of Weapons and Military Equipment via email for further inquiries regarding the codification process: [email protected].
