Since the beginning of the year, the Ministry of Defence has transferred over 150 real estate assets to meet the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine

The Ministry of Defence of Ukraine is actively modernizing infrastructure to meet the needs of the military. Since the beginning of 2025, the Ministry has placed over 150 real estate assets on the balance sheet of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

These assets include facilities designated for new military lyceums and hospitals, as well as properties allocated to the Territorial Defence Forces, the Land Forces Command, the Main Command Center of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and the Main Directorate of the Military Law Enforcement Service.

“We continue to work actively to provide the Armed Forces of Ukraine with the necessary infrastructure and assets to carry out combat missions. This effort includes not only the transfer of buildings but also improvements to property management systems and procedures for compulsory alienation and seizure of assets,” said Deputy Minister of Defence of Ukraine, Brigadier General of Justice Serhii Melnyk.

According to him, the Ministry of Defence has also overhauled the system for leasing military property: “In 2024 alone, the state budget received over 81 million UAH in revenue from leasing real estate managed by the Ministry,” the Deputy Minister emphasized.

Under martial law, the Ministry of Defence has designated an authority responsible for overseeing compulsory alienation and property seizure processes. This decision enables systematic monitoring of such actions and prevents potential abuses.

Additionally, the Ministry is working on developing a geospatial data management subsystem. This system will enable automated inventory and enhance transparency in managing military property and land assets.

Concurrently, the Ministry of Defence continues to document property damaged or destroyed due to russian aggression. Since the beginning of 2025, assessments of damaged assets have been carried out in the Kyiv and Kharkiv oblasts. All collected data is being entered into the State Register of Property Damaged and Destroyed as a Result of Hostilities, Terrorist Acts, and Sabotage.
