Sergiy Boyev: Ukraine is interested in joint projects with U.S. defense companies

First Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine, Sergiy Boyev, held a meeting with representatives of the U.S. Embassy in Ukraine.

During the meeting, Major General Keith Phillips, the current U.S. Defense Attaché, whose diplomatic mission is coming to an end, introduced his newly appointed successor, Brigadier General Brad Nicholson, to the leadership of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine. 

"I would like to acknowledge your role in strengthening the U.S.-Ukraine partnership. Thank you for your  support in countering russian aggression and defending Ukraine’s sovereignty and independence," said Sergiy Boyev, First Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine, expressing his gratitude to Keith Phillips.

During the meeting, the Ukrainian and American sides discussed the current work of their teams and agreed on the importance of identifying areas of mutual beneficial cooperation. The U.S. Defense Attaché highlighted the development of Ukraine’s defense industry and the quality of its scaling efforts.

Sergiy Boyev and his team briefed Brigadier General Brad Nicholson on the critical needs of the Defense Forces in protecting civilians and population centers. The Deputy Minister stated that Ukraine’s defense industry is ready and expects to develop joint projects with U.S. defense companies.

"The United States produces unique weapons that have proven their effectiveness in this war. Ukraine is interested in continuing to use them, both through military aid and via procurement or joint production," emphasized Sergiy Boyev.

Both sides agreed to continue close cooperation and to seek ways to achieve a lasting and just peace in Ukraine.
