The Ministry of Defence has codified and adopted the Spextr ground robotic systems, which have various modifications for deployment within the units of the Defence Forces. This was reported by the MoD’s Main Directorate for Support of the Life Cycle of Weapons and Military Equipment.
The Spextr ground robotic system is a multifunctional unmanned platform for various combat tasks. These robotic systems can traverse off-road conditions and challenging terrain. Remotely operated robots help safeguard and streamline military operations, especially where reducing human risk is paramount.
Depending on the configuration and attachable equipment, the ground robotic systems can perform tasks such as surveillance, ammunition transport, logistical support, and more. In a dedicated configuration, they are capable of engaging the enemy with fire.
The Spextr robots are compact in size, which makes them easy to transport in the cargo compartment of a minibus or pickup truck. The Spextr robots come with a silent electric motor. The battery charge lasts for several hours of continuous operation.
