Denys Shmyhal and the Director of KNDS Deutschland discussed establishing joint ventures in Ukraine
Minister of Defence of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal met with a delegation of KNDS Deutschland headed by Executive Director Ralf Ketzel.
Denys Shmyhal thanked KNDS Deutschland for the constructive dialogue, effective support, and fruitful cooperation.
“KNDS is a leading arms manufacturer whose products have already proven effective on the battlefield. We focused on enhancing industrial cooperation and discussed the establishment of new joint ventures in Ukraine for the production of equipment and spare parts,” the Defence Minister stated.
The parties are also collaborating on setting up repair and service hubs to ensure the swift recovery and upkeep of weapon systems. KNDS Deutschland plans to develop a network of heavy equipment repair centers in Ukraine, with the first three Gepard air defense systems already repaired under this cooperation.
According to Denys Shmyhal, KNDS Deutschland is keen to learn from the experience of Ukrainian troops in using its weapons.
“We agreed to establish communication channels that will allow the company to enhance its products by incorporating lessons from modern warfare,” the Defence Minister said.
He also informed the partners about the upcoming launch of Defence City, a special legal framework designed for defense companies.
“This represents transparent regulations and well-defined conditions for investment and collaborative projects,” emphasized Denys Shmyhal.
