Nearly thirty ground robotic systems approved for operational use since the beginning of the year
In the first six months of 2025, the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine codified and approved for operational use nearly thirty new unmanned ground vehicles (UGVs) and remotely-controlled weapon stations, manufactured in Ukraine. This represents a one-third increase compared to the previous year.
This was reported by Deputy Minister of Defence of Ukraine Valerii Churkin.
“We are actively developing robotic platforms and integrating them into the combat formations of our troops. These systems enhance the capabilities of our units and save the lives of our soldiers. On the front line, robotic systems are already successfully carrying out a wide range of missions,” noted Valerii Churkin.
According to him, the new UGVs include universal multi-functional ground platforms, developed by Ukrainian defence manufacturers. These systems are capable of performing a wide range of tasks: evacuating the wounded, enemy surveillance, fire support for our units, logistics tasks, engineering tasks such as mining or demining the area, and more. Many domestically produced UGVs feature modular configurations, allowing them to be adapted for specific tasks.
