Main Department for the Protection of Service Members’ Rights has processed over 3,600 appeals since the beginning of the year

Since the beginning of the year, the Main Department for the Protection of Service Members’ Rights (MDPSMR) has reviewed more than 3,600 appeals and inquiries from service members and their families. 

As a result of these reviews, 39 inspections have been conducted in military units, enlistment offices, and healthcare institutions. The rights of 1,746 service members and their families have been restored.

If indications of a criminal offense are found, the gathered materials are forwarded to law enforcement authorities. In total, 67 reports have been submitted to the State Bureau of Investigation.

For reference, in 2024, 2,340 appeals and inquiries were reviewed. 

The Main Department for the Protection of Service Members’ Rights will continue to serve as a reliable platform for the legal protection of defenders.

A request or appeal must include:

  • Complainant’s full name (or the name of the entity submitting the complaint on behalf of the service member or their family);
  • Contact details for follow-up communication;
  • A description of the issue;
  • A specific request or demand;
  • Documents verifying the complainant’s authority, if the complaint is submitted on behalf of the service member by another party;
  • Evidence of the violation, if available. 

Anonymous submissions will not be considered.
