Kateryna Chernohorenko: Reports for taking over and handing over positions have been added to Army+
The latest update of Army+ introduces three new reports: for taking over and handing over a position, as well as for maternity leave. This brings the total number of available report types in the app to 22.
The reports on taking over and handing over a position allow military personnel to confirm that they have taken over or handed over a position and associated duties. Along with the report, a position acceptance and handover act may be required. It can also be filled out and attached in the app. These reports will be a valuable addition to the app’s service for changing the duty station, which was launched last year.
Reports for taking over and handing over a position are among the 20 most popular in the military. These are short reports in which a person must confirm their willingness to take over or hand over a position. Previously, processing these reports could take a long time, as submission required traveling to the administrative office.
The online format for submitting such reports will significantly streamline routine procedures for military personnel, benefiting both clerks and those handing over or taking over a position. For units on the front line, the paper-based procedure was not very convenient, as service members had to leave their positions and travel dozens of kilometers to the office merely to confirm something.
“We are gradually adding new reports to Army+ to reduce paperwork. We are transitioning all required hand-written formalities to an electronic format. By implementing this, we save valuable time for service members, as it takes only a few minutes to fill out an online report instead of several hours spent on A4 paper sheets,” said Kateryna Chernohorenko, Deputy Minister of Defence for Digital Development.
Additionally, the process for quickly requesting leave has been enhanced. Now, thanks to the new report, maternity leave can be requested concerning pregnancy and childbirth. This leave is granted for 126 days – 70 days before childbirth and 56 days after. If two or more children are born, maternity leave can be extended by 14 days. In this context, all payments remain in place.
The maternity leave report will save time for female service members. The Deputy Minister added that in the future, reports will be introduced for all grounds that grant defenders the right to take leave.
Overall, 590,000 military personnel have registered in the Army+ app. A total of 130,000 reports have been submitted, holding the same legal validity as paper reports. Of these, 43,000 reports have already been fully approved or rejected, with specific reasons outlined. The most frequently submitted reports are for annual leave, changes of duty station, and health recovery.
