Interceptor drones now available to the military through DOT-Chain Defence

Interceptor drones designed to counter enemy reconnaissance and strike UAVs have been added to the Ministry of Defence’s DOT-Chain Defence weapons marketplace, operated by the MoD’s Defence Procurement Agency. This IT system has become an additional tool for supplying the military with this type of drone.

“From now on, military units can independently choose and order the equipment they require directly through the IT system — using state funds and without additional approvals. This reflects the principle of autonomy and trust,” noted Minister of Defence Denys Shmyhal.

Interceptor drones from three manufacturers are already available in the marketplace, with three more to be contracted in the near future.

Enemy reconnaissance UAVs remain one of the most serious threats on the frontline, correcting artillery fire, detecting positions, and greatly hindering our forces' actions. Hence the critical importance of being able to obtain interception assets quickly.

The Defence Procurement Agency continues to expand the range of products available in DOT-Chain Defence. Earlier, the system had already added strike UAVs, ground robotic systems, fixed-wing drones, and electronic warfare (EW) assets.

Reference information: The DOT-Chain Defence marketplace of Ukraine’s Ministry of Defence is used to provide military units with the required weaponry. The system brings together brigades, manufacturers, and the Defence Procurement Agency (DPA) into a unified, secure environment. Thanks to this system, military units independently select the equipment they require, while the Defence Procurement Agency (DPA) handles all organizational processes — from contract conclusion to payment processing. This enables the military to receive the necessary equipment in just a few clicks.

The supply of the military through DOT-Chain Defence is conducted alongside other programs and constitutes an additional channel for drone deliveries.
