Government endorses draft law establishing liability for unauthorized entry into military facilities
The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has endorsed a draft law establishing liability for unauthorized entry into military facilities.
The draft law was developed to enhance the security of military facilities and to safeguard the civilian population in the context of the ongoing aggression of the russian federation. Unauthorized entry into such facilities entails risks of sabotage and may result in severe consequences.
According to the draft law:
- Liability is established for unauthorized entry into military facilities, for repeated commission of such an offense within one year, and for committing such acts during a special period;
- Fines are established in the amount of 500 to 3,000 non-taxable minimum income units, with confiscation of the means of the offense;
- The National Police shall have the authority to compile protocols for administrative offenses in respect of such violations;
- Cases shall fall within the jurisdiction of district, city, and city-district courts.
The adoption of the law will enhance the security of military facilities, decrease the number of unauthorized entries, and strengthen civilian safety.
