Protecting the skies: Air Force Capability Coalition identifies five priorities
The Secretariat and working groups of the Air Force Capability Coalition met in Kyiv. The meeting brought together representatives from Ukraine, the Netherlands, Denmark, the United States, the United Kingdom, and Canada.
Participants discussed the Coalition’s progress, current needs, and next steps in developing Ukraine’s air capabilities. They also met with Deputy Minister of Defence of Ukraine Sergiy Boyev and a working group led by Lieutenant General Anatolii Kryvonozhko, Commander of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The Coalition focuses on the following five areas of support for Ukraine:
- developing Ukraine’s aviation infrastructure;
- training personnel;
- sustaining existing air capabilities;
- developing helicopter capabilities;
- scaling up defense-industrial and military-technical cooperation.
Participants discussed establishing an Air Force Capability Coalition Fund to improve coordination on developing Ukraine’s air capabilities and help secure funding to accelerate priority projects.
