Drone warfare in Ukraine: what is DELTA Mission Control, which has recorded more than 3 million strike missions?

Ukrainian service members plan combat operations using the Mission Control module in the DELTA combat system
DELTA Mission Control is currently used to record the results of drone and artillery employment

In September 2026, service members recorded more than 1.8 million results of completed missions in Mission Control.

At the beginning of the year, the system processed about 196,000 such records a month. In nine months, this figure has grown more than ninefold.

What is Mission Control in the Ukraine DELTA system used for?

Mission Control is one of the modules of the DELTA combat ecosystem. It enables service members to record the results of completed missions and use the data for analysis and subsequent planning.

In effect, the system continues the combat cycle after an asset is employed: the result is recorded and analyzed and can then be taken into account when planning subsequent actions.

Mission Control is currently used to record the results of unmanned systems and artillery employment. Air defense units, Army Aviation, and other components of the Defence Forces of Ukraine are also gradually starting to work with the module.

Drone warfare in Ukraine in numbers: which missions does DELTA Mission Control record?

As of October 1, 2026, since the active rollout of Mission Control began in March, UAV operators have submitted:

  • nearly 3.6 million reconnaissance mission reports;
  • more than 3 million missions carried out to strike enemy targets;
  • more than 1.02 million logistics missions using UAVs and nearly 168,000 logistics missions using unmanned ground vehicles (UGVs);
  • nearly 500,000 missions to intercept aerial targets;
  • nearly 370,000 remote mining missions using UAVs.

The growing volume of data in Mission Control provides a fuller picture of the results of combat employment across the Defence Forces, making it possible to analyze them, compare the effectiveness of different approaches, and use the information obtained in subsequent planning.

In this way, Mission Control is moving beyond recording results and becoming part of a single digital cycle in the DELTA ecosystem: planning, employment, analysis, and the next decision.

The Ministry of Defence previously reported that, as of July 2026, the DELTA combat system was recording more than 6,600 enemy targets hit every day.
