Denys Shmyhal: UK to produce Ukrainian interceptor drones
Ukraine’s Minister of Defence, Denys Shmyhal, and the UK Secretary of State for Defence, John Healey, have agreed to produce Ukrainian-developed interceptor drones in the United Kingdom.
The agreement signed in London represents a continuation of the commitments between the President of Ukraine and the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom regarding the development of industrial cooperation.
The first batch will include one thousand drones. All of them will be delivered to Ukraine.
“Interceptor drones have already proven effective against russia’s ‘Shahed-style’ terror. “We will continue to scale up these projects, attract investment, and enhance technologies to protect Ukrainian cities and civilians from russian air attacks as effectively as possible,” said the Minister of Defence of Ukraine.
During the meeting, John Healey and Denys Shmyhal discussed aspects of implementing the agreement.
“This agreement represents a significant step in implementing the One Hundred Year Partnership Agreement between the United Kingdom and Ukraine,” said the Minister of Defence of Ukraine.
The parties also reviewed the outcomes of the Ramstein-format meeting and agreed on the key topics for the next meeting, scheduled for October.
